Discover TELUS Spark Science Centre, a captivating hub of science and innovation that shines as one of Calgary’s prized attractions. Since its inception in 2011, this purpose-built science center has drawn visitors into an immersive world of discovery, becoming a beacon for learning and exploration.
Originally born as the Calgary Centennial Planetarium in 1967, the center underwent a transformative journey, culminating in its evolution into the Calgary Science Centre. Renamed TELUS World of Science – Calgary in 2005 following a generous $9 million donation from TELUS Corporation, the center underwent a monumental shift in both purpose and location.
The move to its current 15-acre site at 220 St. Georges Drive NE in Nose Creek Valley, adjacent to the Calgary Zoo, marked a significant milestone. Embracing a broader vision, the reimagined Spark integrated art and creativity into the realms of science, technology, engineering, and math. This new approach fosters innovative thinking and engagement among visitors.
Moreover, the building stands as a testament to environmental responsibility, boasting LEED Gold certification. Designed with eco-efficiency in mind, it employs sustainable practices such as utilizing grey water for toilets, implementing solar panels on the roof, and, before the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, employing eco-friendly cleaning supplies devoid of bleach or harmful toxins.

These values underpin the center’s dedication to care, ingenuity, and collaborative teamwork, establishing Spark as a leader in experiential learning and exploration.
Day tickets are $19 for ages 3-17, $22 for those with valid student ID, $24 for seniors 65 and over, and $26 for ages 18-64. Family day tickets are $90 for two adults and up to four children.
